A CV is the key to getting you to the interview stage of applying for your ideal job.

Here are a few key points of setting your CV out in the best format.

  • Always add a personal profile about yourself, this should be no more than one paragraph mentioning all your strong points

  • Always start with your most recent job when detailing your employment history. Always cover any gaps between jobs, travelling or studying...

  • Include other activities and hobbies you have as this gives prospective employers details about you as a person

  • DO NOT lie about experience and qualifications, and also DO NOT make spelling mistakes or make humorous remarks on CV as may offend potential employers

Try and make CV no longer than 2 pages and use good quality paper. Arial and Times New Roman text is widely used as it is clear and easily readable.
